Joel G. Wexler

Joel G. Wexler is former General Counsel and President of County Federal Savings and Loan Association of Rockville Centre, New York. He has been in private practice since 1982 specializing in representing lenders, buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants in residential and commercial real estate transactions. He is a former director of Doral Bank, FSB.

Upon merging his practice to help create Berger, Fischoff, Shumer, Wexler & Goodman, LLP, Mr. Wexler took on his role with the firm as a lead real estate partner, focusing, primarily on lender representation.

By merging his practice, Mr. Wexler sought the opportunity for his non-lender clients to have access to legal representation in areas beyond real estate. Mr. Wexler and Berger, Fischoff, Shumer, Wexler & Goodman, LLP now offers his clients representation in the areas bankruptcy law (both individual and business), matrimonial and family law, divorce mediation, civil litigation, corporate representation, religious incorporation, education law and other legal matters.

A graduate of City University of New York and Brooklyn Law School, Mr. Wexler is currently a fellow and former Regent of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys. He is also a member of the Nassau County Bar Association where he serves on the Corporation, Banking and Securities Law Committee and the Real Property Law Committee.

In addition to being admitted to practice in New York State, Mr. Wexler is also admitted to practice in all four U.S. District Courts located in New York State, the Supreme Court of the United States and the United States Court of Military Appeals.

He has been selected to be on the New York Metro Super Lawyers list for the years 2007 and 2014 through 2019.

Mr. Wexler lives on Long Island with his Wife and is an active member of the Long Island community.
